Nick Page writes: On a lovely sunny day at Horsham and in their last league game of the season, Lewes Colts contrived to lose this game in the first quarter of an hour but did manage to make it a game of two halves.

On a fine bright day Lewes travelled away to meet Hove in the return league fixture of the season. What started very shakily before the game got better in the first half but ended broken in the second half as Lewes took a heavy defeat 47 v 7.

Lewes 2s narrowly defeated in Sussex cup game

On Sunday 1st March 09 a patched up Lewes 2s team playing their second game of the weekend narrowly lost 15-13 in a bruising encounter with a committed Heathfield 2nd XV. This was a Sussex County cup game and came at an inconvenient time for Lewes.

Burgess Hill overcome Lewes 2s in the league.

On Saturday 28th Feb the Lewes 2s entertained Burgess Hill in the league and unfortunately lost 12 – 40. Despite the scoreline it was a really gutsy performace from a 2nd team struck by injury non availability and the added hindrance of a cup game to follow on the sunday.

Lewes 1s close out the Deal

On what was probably the best day of the year so far the Lewes 1st team probably put in their best performance of the season down at the Stanley Turner Ground. With plenty of running left in the tank they ran out the dominant winners over Deal & Betteshanger by 23 v 5 at the final whistle.
